The Rising Stars Foundation

About the RSF

Founded in 2010, The Rising Stars Foundation is a 501-c3 nonprofit organization that offers a mentorship program for upper level dancers between the ages of 13 – 19. With our home at The Loudoun School of Ballet, we provide the opportunity for these qualified dancers to learn and experience the dynamics of instructing and educating in the world of dance.

Our goals are to create new student teachers and prepare them with hands on experience through education, choreography and performance, all while in a supervised setting.  We guide our interns to assist in the classroom, to demonstrate and embrace the experience of teaching, to learn to be mentored as well as to be mentors, and to bridge the gap between the younger student and the more experienced student by demonstrating strong morals and values.

These Interns offer their time as student teachers in The Loudoun School of Ballet's Rising Stars, Ballet and Contemporary Departments.  In addition to their volunteer work, these interns are offered the opportunity to perform in local shows and at community driven events.

IAs Loudoun County's premier ballet company, The Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company strives to give outstanding dancers opportunities to perform in full-length classical and contemporary ballet productions for appreciative audiences. Our dancers are committed to their art. Some Company Members have been dancing since they were very young, and today they devote as many as 20 to 30 hours a week to classes, rehearsals and private lessons.

Dedicated ballet dancers 8 to 19 years old are invited to audition. The Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company Members, Apprentices and Junior Apprentices are selected by our Artistic Directors. Dancers perform in three full-length ballets each season (October through May), as well as perform in community outreach programs throughout the year.
